SUNBURST MUSIC FESTIVAL Having been invited by a couple of my friends to go to Sunburst to see the bands coming, I turned them down, since I had never heard of any of the lineup. However, I was watching MTV, and a KoRn video came up (Make Me Bad). It was pretty awesome heavy metal, but was also soulful and gave me goosebumps. This was only a few days before the concert. I saw my friend who went the day after, who is not himself a metalhead, and we were playing Guitar Hero when he noticed one of their songs was on there too (Freak On A Leash). Having looked further into the band, I now realize they are simply f***ing amazing, and definitely the best metal band ever. They are now my second favourite band (after only Guns N’ Roses) and right now not going to Sunburst is my biggest regret. I sincerely hope they plan to play here again (if the censors don’t tell them to clear off and stop “damaging the morals of teenagers”) and if they do, wouldn’t miss it for the world. Oh yea, and a couple of my friends were apparently creating most of the moshpits on the site. One of my friends described the night: “KoRn were just headbanging while the crowd went f’***ing wild in the arena. When estranged came on I looked up and saw (my friends) in two massive moshpits, which was a bit out of place for the song”. Kieran Murray |
