| Stop The Sorry Tune and Turned Off by the Lack of Consistency |
This is not the regular news post on upcoming shows but us highlighting recent articles that do mention the concert industry which might be of interest to you, the live music fan. Written by Malaysian daily The Star, these articles (titled Stop The Sorry Tune and Turned Off By The Lack Of Consistency) discuss issues many of our promoters have had to consider and deal with prior to putting on a concert amongst others, some of which we have been informed and made aware of in the past. The headlines made regarding concerts staged in Malaysia (think Linkin Park, Avril Lavigne, Michael Learns To Rock, Arthur’s Day etc) were also brought up, some as examples. Big names and top players in the industry regionally also share their experiences and views in these write ups, providing an insight to the challenges in this business. On the whole, this makes for an interesting read. Feel free to share your thoughts. Filed under: malaysia, miscellaneous, promoters & organizersTags: articles, the star |

| The end of Sunburst Music Festival? |
If you were hoping there would be another installment to attend in 2010, you are likely to be disappointed by this piece of news. Following the fiasco surrounding the cancelled N.E.R.D concert in Jakarta post-Sunburst last month, Malaysia’s New Straits Times published an article just recently concerning the festival organizer’s current status.
