New York City indie rock band Yeah Yeah Yeahs will play Singapore this January after their tour of Australia that finishes off in the state of WA. Karen O and co. will be touring in support of the band’s third studio album on Interscope Records, It’s Blitz! Concert details as follows:

| Total Chaos Live in Bandung, Indonesia, December 2009 |
American punk band Total Chaos will be making their way to Indonesia this December as part of their IN PUNK WE CRUST ASIAN TOUR 2009. This is the only confirmed Southeast Asian tour date for now but check back often to see if they’ll be making more stops around the region. For now, here are the details for their show in Bandung:

| Mika Live in Hong Kong, November 2009 |

Another band who happens to be “in the neighbourhood” for Australia’s Soundwave Festival will pop by the region next year for a show. The British alt rock trio Placebo are expected to play a show in Jakarta, Indonesia this February as part of their tour in promoting the band’s latest album, Battle For The Sun. This is not the regular news post on upcoming shows but us highlighting recent articles that do mention the concert industry which might be of interest to you, the live music fan. Written by Malaysian daily The Star, these articles (titled Stop The Sorry Tune and Turned Off By The Lack Of Consistency) discuss issues many of our promoters have had to consider and deal with prior to putting on a concert amongst others, some of which we have been informed and made aware of in the past. The headlines made regarding concerts staged in Malaysia (think Linkin Park, Avril Lavigne, Michael Learns To Rock, Arthur’s Day etc) were also brought up, some as examples. Big names and top players in the industry regionally also share their experiences and views in these write ups, providing an insight to the challenges in this business.
